Job Description:

Piper Companies is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on-site in Saratoga, CA 5 days per week . The ideal Senior Mechanical Engineer is eager to solve complex challenges and help shape the future of AI networking technologies.

Responsibilities of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Design and optimize components and chassis for computing systems, including cooling systems and mounting structures.
  • Develop and improve IC packages, focusing on thermal management, electrical performance, and manufacturability.
  • Choose materials for IC packaging based on their properties to meet performance and reliability standards.
  • Conduct simulations to predict and optimize the performance of electrical and optical packages.
  • Create prototypes, conduct tests, and refine designs based on results.
  • Work with electrical engineers, semiconductor designers, and manufacturing teams to ensure compatibility of designs.
  • Prepare design specifications, test procedures, and reports.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and implement quality assurance processes.
  • Qualifications of the Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • 10+ years of experience in advanced packaging and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of air and liquid cooling systems, flip chip, 2.5D and 3D packaging technologies.
  • Experience with photonics package integration is preferred
  • Proven track record of taking products from concept to production
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL)
  • BS in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Compensation for the Senior Mechanical Engineer:

  • Salary Range: $220,000 - $275,000 annually
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave as required by law, and Holidays
