Responsibilities Providing technical leadership to project teams Recognizing and creatively solving complex problems Guiding ideation and prototype development Communication with customers Management of collaborators (consultants, subcontractors, etc.) Presentation of results to customers (written and oral) Supervision and development of junior staff Business development through proposal writing Desired Qualifications Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including numerical analysis and modeling and systems experience Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects Strong written and verbal communications skills Experience with structured problem solving and product development Hands-on experimental and fabrication experience Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods Experience conducting analysis of alternatives and technology review Familiarity with solid modeling, SolidWorks preferred Adaptability and desire to learn new technologies Education/Experience BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field. Advanced degree is a plus. 5-10 years experience working in design, prototype fabrication and testing is needed Experience managing technical teams and directing projects is a must Experience with SBIR program is a plus Due to the nature of our business and information associated with this position, interested candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Resident.
