As a mechanical engineer you"ll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing various types of tactical equipment used onboard Navy submarines. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Due to the nature of the work performed in this facility, US citizenship is required. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Will be a member of a cross functional team responsible for designing, building, and testing various types of tactical equipment used onboard Navy submarines. Design of electro-mechanical systems used in the defense industry; Utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards; Perform structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field with 5+ years of job-related experience OR Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Strong proficiency with modeling CAD tools to create mechanical models and drawings Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as technical, government, and industry standards Collaborative, creative thinker with experience leading complex projects Strong communication skills with ability to write technical papers and proposals Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with design of electro-mechanical systems used in the defense industry; Proficiency utilizing CAD tools to create 3D models and drawings for technical data packages that meet ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards; Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
