JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems. Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and work closely with cross-functional teams. Provide specialized expertise in particular areas of electrical engineering and participate in advanced development projects. ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES: Oversees the design and development of electrical systems and components. Ensures that designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements. Plans test strategy to verify the performance of electrical systems. Analyzes test data and makes recommendations for improvements. Identifies and rectifies gaps in compliance requirements. Influences initial product concepts to pass regulatory compliance. Formulates solutions to complex and ambiguous problems that aren't well defined. Incorporates feedback and solutions from others. Guides IP strategy with projects and teams. Leads efforts to create IP assets that drive innovation and market differentiation. Collaborates with leadership and other cross functional departments to align decisions with organizational goals. Leads risk assessment, validates assessments, engages with executives to communicate high-level risks. SECONDARY DUTIES: Identifies opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality. Ensures that documentation complies with company standards and industry regulations. Champions six sigma techniques and drives standardization through continuous process improvement. Applies domain mastery to the application and advancement of engineering methods and tools. Establishes and enforces quality standards, leads quality improvement initiatives. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field and 6+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of both. Good working knowledge and application of DFSS tools and methodologies with DFSS Green Belt certification or better. COMPETENCY and/or SKILL: In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, theories, and concepts High level understanding of analog and digital circuits, power systems, microcontrollers, and signal processing Experience in providing technical direction and oversight to project teams Proficiency in using relevant software tools for design, simulation, and analysis of electrical systems Can effectively communicate technical strategies and decisions to executives Able to provide technical review expertise across functional areas Able to establish and enforce quality standards that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to level II and level III engineers.
