P2S has an excellent opportunity for a talented electrical engineer to support education, commercial, federal, ports, and/or infrastructure projects in our Seattle office. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with the design of federal, ports, or educational facilities.
Position Requirements :
- Degree: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Registered Professional Engineer license is required
- Minimum 10years experience
- Able to lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineers.
- Able to perform QAQC on electrical projects and mentor emerging professionals through challenging design issues.
- Demonstrate project management skills.
- Be self-motivated, inquisitive, detail-oriented, adept at looking at underlying issues, and willing to work in fast-paced environment.
- Experience using AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit
- Possess strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
Working Knowledge :
- National Electrical Code - required
- Washington State Codes - preferred
- Unified Facilities Criteria - preferred
- ETAP/SKM - preferred
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Revit a plus
- AutoCAD a plus
Duties:
Pre-Design Engineering
- Perform field surveys for the design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports.
- Prepare electrical schematic designs.
Design Engineering
- Design power single line and riser diagrams
- Perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM.
- Design low voltage and medium voltage infrastructure.
- Understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards.
- Have a working knowledge of National Electrical Code, Washington Codes and Energy Standards to design electrical systems.
- Coordination among different disciplines, such as mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural. Work in close contact with the entire design team.
Project Management
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple large-size projects involving other senior engineers and sub-consultants.
- Provide mentorship to design engineers.
- Prepare proposals independently for clients.
- Demonstrate active development of business with new and existing clients.
Construction Administration
- Review and respond to RFI's.
- Review equipment submittals.
- Perform punch walks and prepare punch list report.
