Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineer III provides expertise and support in a variety of areas including resource management, preparation, and oversight of mechanical designs, providing extensive knowledge in ASME, CEMA, and Industrial Ventilation Guidelines, and preparation of design deliverables that meet project requirements.
Responsibilities:Management: - Directing designers toward completion of construction documents, having a working knowledge of Revit, and applicable mechanical design software.
- Proactively communicate and coordinate design work within the department, with other disciplines, and with external stakeholders.
- Independently manage projects with majority mechanical scope.
- Manage and provide technical guidance to engineers and designers.
- Define, interpret, manage, and track assigned project budgets, schedules, and scopes.
- Develop system designs for flow sheet development.
- Assist in preparation of construction documents and design deliverables.
Engineering: - Work on multiple project designs simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
- Understand and apply concerns of safety, maintenance, accessibility, constructability, and coordination (SMACCTM).
- Size and appropriately specify mechanical equipment standard to industries we serve.
- Issue and record drawing submittals and revisions and Request for Information.
- Check mechanical calculations and construction documents prepared by yourself or others for errors, omissions, and adherence to company standards.
- Have proficiency in use of Revit, AutoCAD, Excel, Belt Analyst, Pipeflo and other calculation and design software.
- Possess working knowledge of equipment practices.
- Evaluate contractor proposals/submittals for alignment/compliance.
Qualifications: - Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- 7+ years' experience in engineering (preferably related to construction or heavy industrial)
- Licensed Professional Engineer strongly preferred but not required.
- Extensive mechanical engineering experience with a broad range of industrial project types.
- Excellent communications skills, highly organized, detail oriented, and positive attitude
- Minimal travel is required.
- Able to lift 25 pounds, ascend industrial structures unaided.
- U.S. Citizenship. May sponsor the right candidate.
- Valid driver's license
