Mid-Level Engineer or Geologist - Albuquerque or Gallup, NM
Trihydro, a mid-sized engineering and environmental consulting firm with a nationwide presence, is seeking a skilled, mid-level engineer or geologist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will join our Petroleum and Petrochemical Business Unit to support projects and assist in providing clients with effective, responsive, and safe solutions. Responsibilities
As a mid-level engineer or geologist, you will play a key role in managing remediation projects across petroleum refineries and other industrial sites subject to regulatory compliance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating and executing soil and groundwater investigations to meet project objectives and regulatory standards
- Developing detailed project cost estimates and preparing comprehensive reports
- Providing support for technical, business development, and marketing efforts as needed
- Assisting with project management tasks, including budgeting, resource allocation, and maintaining strong client relationships
This position requires a proactive, team-oriented professional with the ability to contribute effectively to project success while maintaining high-quality deliverables and fostering client satisfaction.
Position Qualifications
Educational Background
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant field is a plus
Licenses and Certifications
- Working toward or in possession of a professional registration (e.g., P.E., P.G., or equivalent certification)
- Additional certifications (e.g., HAZWOPER, OSHA) are advantageous
Work and Past Experience
- At least 4 years of work experience in a relevant field, such as environmental engineering, geoscience, or remediation projects
- Demonstrated experience overseeing construction and environmental fieldwork, such as subsurface investigations, drilling operations, groundwater monitoring well installation, and excavation activities
- A proven track record of implementing safe work practices and promoting a culture of safety in professional or academic settings
- A reliable work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively in team environments. Experience working on cross-functional teams is highly beneficial
- Strong initiative and self-motivation to ensure timely completion of project deliverables while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance
- Proven ability to plan, execute, and oversee environmental remediation activities, including site assessments, soil and groundwater remediation, and system design implementation
- Experience with environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting. Candidates should be proficient in or capable of learning software tools such as GIS, CAD, or other specialized environmental data platforms
Communication Skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information to clients, regulatory agencies, and project team members
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration across diverse teams
Supplementary Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel to client sites and other company locations as needed
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision, balancing priorities effectively
- Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and any additional access credentials required by specific client sites
Location and Work Environment
This position will be based in the Albuquerque or Gallup, NM area. This position will include approximately 50% of your time in the field performing and/or overseeing project work.
