Join us, and you'll find not just a job, but a chance togrow professionally, contribute meaningfully, and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.How we reward you401(k) plan that provides a 100% match on the first 3% of your contributions and 50% of the next 2%Healthcare plans to support your needsVirtual doctor visitsAccess to Centers of Excellence with Barnes Jewish Hospital and Mayo Clinic s Complex Care Program15% Associate DiscountDave Ramsey s SmartDollar ProgramAssociate Assistance ProgramRK Cares Associate Hardship Program24/7 Chaplaincy ServicesJOB SUMMARYThe purpose of the Transportation Mechanic II is to provide support by identifying repairs and/or replacement needs for RKT semi-trucks and trailers, assisting and/or performing repairs and preventive maintenance, and ensuring completion of repairs in accordance DOT regulations.JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEnsures equipment availability for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgradesComplete dry service on equipment to include lubrication of components, fluid checks and inspection of all hoses and beltsComplete wet service on equipment to include refilling fluids (engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, windshield fluid, etc)Diagnosis electrical malfunctions for the purpose of determining needed repairs and/or replacementsInspect, service and replace trailer parts, including tire checksMaintain hub and axles and adjusting or replace when requiredService and repair the brake, electrical and hydraulic systemRepairs and/or replaces starters, alternators, and air pumpsRepairs and/or replaces water pumps and T-StatsEnsure that equipment meets the U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirementsCompile inspection reports, documenting repairs and reporting all findings to managementPerform more extensive repairs to equipment with the supervision of a Maintenance Tech III Have a sound understanding of repair tools, equipment, and testing machineryMaintains tools, equipment and/or shop area for the purpose of ensuring the availability of tools and equipment, and safety within the workspace May be required to cross train and perform other duties.QUALIFICATIONSAt least 2 years of semi-truck mechanic experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.Excellent customer service skillsDemonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Demonstrated behaviors must reflect integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Awareness of operational safety and DOT requirementsPhysical Requirements Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department across facilities.Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with others (in-person and via electronic devices).Must have close visual acuity.
