As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, you will work with the design teams in a dynamic, rapid-growth work environment with a team of bright, talented engineers, architects, designers, builders, craftsmen and manufacturers. From desk to factory floor to job sites and client meetings, you will be challenged to develop your skills in a new field, taking a lead role in project delivery via the DMC methodology.
Job Responsibilities
- Design facility HVAC & Plumbing systems to meet client's requirements in projects.
- Perform facility HVAC & Plumbing distribution system and equipment design for a wide range of projects, and collaborate with team engineers, architects, and detailers as needed to model elements into a cohesive facility model.
- Perform calculations, studies, and analysis of HVAC & Plumbing systems and equipment to create design solutions. Specific forms of analysis include HVAC system load, sizing ductwork, sizing domestic water and drainage systems.
- Layout of domestic water and drainage system piping and system isometric diagrams.
- Layout of ductwork and hydronic system piping and associated air and/or water flow diagrams.
- Support production of projects including manufacturing design drawings, computer modeling, and detailing of manufacturing and construction work scopes.
- Generate and maintain models used to create project permitting documents, manufacturing drawings and field shop drawings.
- Perform quality checks on their own work and participate in project-wide quality reviews of the design and drawings. Produce design in compliance with national and local codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with installers in manufacturing and construction to improve quality, flow, and efficiency of implementation of the design.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors in developing specifications of the design and selection of equipment used in the facility systems.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree plus 5-10 years of experience in the HVAC engineering industry
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Punctual and able to meet deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer license
- Experience with the design and construction of healthcare facilities
- Experience with 3D Modeling programs such as Revit and AutoCAD
