We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Richmond, VA office. As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and assigning various projects to be performed by the team. Job Responsibilities As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing trade specific system design: layout; calculations; and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other internal and external. Also, responsible for directing and leading the design team of a wide number of projects. Additional responsibilities include: Assume responsible charge for the overall economic well-being of the assigned projects. Conduct business development activities. Conducts due diligence reports that comply with group and company standards and procedures. Establishes design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects. Designs large projects, prepares reports and specifications, and provides a very high level of technical leadership. Establishes project budgets and schedules. Networks within SHG and outside. Participates in QA/QC process of completed work by staff. Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations. Performs "Engineer of Record" duties for projects. Performs calculations, equipment selection, equipment specification, system design, system layout, field investigation, and construction administration. Performs staff resource management and review. Produces drawings consistent with client requirements and standards. Provides consulting engineering services including preparation of due diligence reports, gap analyses, and feasibility reports. Pursues continuing education. Represents Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. Take responsible charge for the project for his/her discipline, addressing any E & O issues Job Requirements: High school diploma with trade school certification in CAD Electrical fields or AA degree in Electrical fields relevant experience or equivalent work experience. 8+ years of relevant experience in MEP field Hands-on design and CAD/REVIT experience, required, as you will have a very strong technical role Able to perform calculation for his/her trade to support design; possess basic knowledge of systems design for various projects. Actual pay range for candidates will be commensurate with candidate's experience, skillsets and competencies and may differ based on the cost of labor in their particular location.
