Position Summary: As a vital member of the Engineering team, the Mechanical Engineer II will report directly to the Engineering Manager. This role involves the analysis, design, maintenance, enhancement, and deployment of world-class machinery. In collaboration with cross-functional team members, the Mechanical Engineer will implement established equipment design standards and drive improvement projects that align with customer requirements and the ITW 80/20 philosophy. Primary Responsibilities: Design, analyze, and evaluate advanced mechanical and electro-mechanical systems with minimal supervision. Identify opportunities for improvement through market analysis and customer feedback to enhance product offerings. Create clear, detailed, and precise 3-D models and drawings using Creo. Develop manufacturing drawings that facilitate efficient assembly. Oversee change control for components and maintain comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM). Create and maintain accurate multi-level BOMs and input them into our ERP system. Collaborate with manufacturing teams and suppliers to achieve cost targets for projects. Conduct engineering studies and coordinate with operations, field services, and customers to troubleshoot issues, execute root cause analysis, and assess cost-effectiveness, efficiency, and reliability. Utilize ITW 80/20 business processes to lead projects and draw actionable insights from data analysis. Travel up to 10% to engage with suppliers and customers. Lift up to 25 lbs as required. Perform additional duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required. 5+ years of experience in design engineering within a product development environment, particularly in machine design, conveyors, material handling equipment, or robotic systems. Proficient in 3D modeling software; experience with or ability to learn Creo is essential. Familiarity with AutoCAD for creating pneumatic schematics is a plus. Skilled in PDM systems; experience with Windchill is preferred. Knowledge of GD&T principles and ability to conduct stack-up tolerance analysis. Strong oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities. Proficient in conducting analyses using tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Intermediate understanding of automation technologies is advantageous. Understanding of manufacturing systems is necessary for managing BOM's. We use D365.
