We are looking for any level Naval Architecture Technologists or Engineers to join our Dartmouth, NS office!


As a Naval Architecture Technologist or Engineer, you will play a critical role in the Fleetway Engineering team that develops 3D models, drawings and technical studies, as well as ensures the completion of engineering change proposals and systems integration projects for government and commercial vessels. You will work in a cross-functional team with members located across the country, providing mentorship and training and development opportunities to junior team members. As a Naval Architecture Technologist or Engineer, you are respected in the industry as shown by your proven hands-on experience in marine engineering environments and your ability to provide solutions to client engineering design challenges.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering OR Engineering Technology Diploma in Naval Architecture
  • Hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling and engineering design/integration projects preferably in the marine industry
  • P. Eng (for Engineer role) considered an asset
  • Experience with Shipconstructor considered an asset based on our upcoming projects
  • You will be working in MS Office Suite regularly, intermediate to advanced experience is considered a strong asset
  • We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in working with Naval Warships and/or within the shipbuilding industry is considered an asset

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes:

  • Develop and interpret 3D models of equipment, foundations, piping systems, and structures for client vessels.
  • Create and interpret 2D drawings, including parts, assemblies, installations, and various diagrams.
  • Research vessel documentation, review engineering changes, and confirm documentation accuracy.
  • Work on Engineering Changes (ECs) related to ships, systems, and equipment modifications.
  • Manage and implement ECs, ensuring new or sustained capabilities.
  • Support projects from initial change to installation and acceptance on board vessels.
  • Conduct market research, option analysis, system requirement determination, calculations, impact assessments, and write specifications.
  • Develop technical studies, drawings, and specifications for government and commercial vessels.
  • Report writing and equipment selection.
  • Perform structural design and analysis.
  • Work on systems integration projects.
  • Collaborate with team members.
  • Conduct engineering analyses such as finite element analysis, weights, or stability.
