Our Electrical Engineering team puts the spark into the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production. It takes experts in system architecture definition, design, analysis, prototyping, sourcing & the debugging and validation of layouts or routes to deliver state-of-the-art products for a changing world. We work closely with designers, cross-functional teams within Dell Technologies and suppliers to make sure electronic designs meet a range of requirements, including schedule, feature set, functionality and quality, as well as industry standards.

What you'll achieve

As a member of the Networking HW Engineering team, the Cables & Optic s Engineer will be responsible for the verification and qualification of complex copper cables and optical fiber transceiver modules in various systems, primarily in the 10 Gbit/s - 1600 Gbit/s range. This role requires collaboration with xfunctional HW & SW Engineering team, including Platform, Solution, COMMs, Network SW, etc., on all matters related to datacenter and GenAI-focused network compute, storage, and switch connectivity using optical and copper technologies.

You will:
  • Designs, develops, modifies , and evaluates electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
  • Analyzes equipment and test plan requirements to perform verification; conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
  • Work with lead engineer or architect to s elect components based on analysis of specifications, cost, continuity of supply, and reliability.
  • Reviews original design manufacturer and sub-tier vendor capability to support product development and production.
  • Ensures the manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability of designs, and designs integrate with the rest of product functions including mechanical and software.

  • Solid understanding of existing industry players in cables and optics field.
  • Knowledge of Broadcom SDK would be very helpful

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $108,000K - $138,000K.
