Job Overview: As a Lead Electrical Engineer for product development at L3Harris you will spearhead electrical design and development initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in driving the technical direction, ensuring they align with the company's strategic objectives and technological advancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical engineering efforts development programs, from concept through to prototype development and testing.
- Design and simulate complex electrical systems, components, and circuits for cutting-edge applications.
- Oversee the development of schematics and electrical component selection, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to integrate electrical systems with other project elements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and team members.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to meet goals and deliverables.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new technologies or design approaches.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and reports.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in electrical engineering and related fields.
- Present project progress and findings to stakeholders and at technical conferences as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Experience in electrical engineering supporting the development of products
- Demonstrated expertise in digital and analog circuit design, simulation, and testing.
- Proficient with EDA tools for schematic capture.
- Experience with embedded systems design and microcontroller integration.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in electrical engineering.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience leading development programs.
- Familiarity with RF design, power electronics, or control systems is a plus.
- Experience with simulation software (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Active participation in the engineering community, including publications, patents, or conference presentations.
