GE- Sr Mechanical Engineer - Main Turbine Design & Installation Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: 18 Months

Vacancies: 1

Rate: $70/hr - $80/hr INC


Role Summary:


This position contributes to the team responsible for the Power Cycle Mechanical design of New Nuclear Power Plants. The Mechanical Engineer will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to advance new plant detailed design and successfully deliver NPP projects.

Essential Responsibilities:


The candidate must have demonstrated experience with the following:

  • Lead and conduct design analyses, evaluations, and verifications for the BWRX-300 Main Turbine and Auxiliary Systems.
  • Assist in review of vendor supplier documentation associated with the Main Turbine and AuxiliarSystems.
  • Competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams. As well as experience using AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom.
  • Preparation and review of system design deliverables which include system design specifications, piping and instrument diagrams, process flow calculations and diagrams, hydraulic resistance calculations, equipment sizing, and Technical Specifications for the BWRX-300 Main Turbine and Auxiliary System.
  • Manage project work schedules and priorities.
  • Provide on-time, quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or University.

  • P.Eng Seal of Ontario with experience in thermal hydraulic engineering. Worked in the Combine Cycle industry or other power industries.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in performing design, fabrication, and installation of steam turbines and supporting systems in nuclear or combined cycle plants.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant Systems Design
  • Expert knowledge of relevant design codes and requirements
