Role Summary:
This position contributes to the team responsible for the Power Cycle Mechanical design of New Nuclear Power Plants. The Mechanical Engineer will perform activities within a team environment, working with a global team of partner organizations and suppliers to advance new plant detailed design and successfully deliver NPP projects.
Essential Responsibilities
The candidate must have demonstrated experience with the following:
- Lead and conduct thermal hydraulic analyses, evaluations, and verifications for the BWRX-300 Power Systems such as Condensate Feedwater System, Feedwater Heater Drain Systems and Moisture Separator Reheater System.
- Assist in review of vendor supplier documentation associated with secondary steam cycle Heat Exchangers.
- Competency in computer programs and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams. As well as experience using AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom.
- Perform calculations for relief valve sizing, control valve sizing, hydraulic calculations for pump sizing and piping sizing.
- Manage project work schedules and priorities.
- Provide on-time, quality delivery of equipment packages and engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in performing thermal hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, and relief valve sizing.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant roles associated with Heat Exchanger design or vendor document reviews.
- Expert knowledge of relevant design codes and requirements
