Job Description:

Mechanical Engineer, Must have PE in Alabama
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer for to work in the office in Pittsburgh, PA, onsite in Alabama or remotely, preferably in the EST zone.

The Engineer shall provide engineering design and details, and shall work in conjunction with Project Managers, and other team members for successful completions of mechanical design and engineering from commercial and industrial projects.

The successful candidate shall have the following specific responsibilities:
Perform analysis and calculations as required for sizing mechanical equipment and piping systems in accordance with the project requirements and all applicable codes and standards.
Provide technical and design guidance to the designers in the preparation of construction drawings (equipment layouts, plans, cross sections, details, flow diagrams, P&IDs, bills of material, etc.).
Assist the Department Manager in the preparation of procurement and construction specifications and bid evaluation.
Review project scope and vendor information and assist the Department manager in establishing design criteria and guidelines.
Coordinate with vendors, as required.
Identify and resolve any potential conflicts, problems, changes or deviations in designs and engineering.
Review, monitor, and approve technical quality of the work performed in the department.
Perform site visits, as required.
Review department design standards and assist the Department Manager to ensure compliance within the department and update them as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering with emphasis on piping systems (water, sanitary, hydraulics, lubrication, gases, steam, etc.), and HVAC.
Experience should include heavy industrial facilities.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama.
Experience with AutoCAD.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

LOCATION:

This person could work out of an office in Pittsburgh or be onsite in Alabama. They also could work remotely in the US, preferably in the EST zone.
