We are on the lookout for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Process Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills in process manufacturing, instruments, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, calipers, comparators, PC, CAD, and the automotive industry. Your role will be integral to our company, as you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing your knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
- Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
- Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
- Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plan.
- Implement changes to machinery and equipment, to reduce costs and improve quality.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in process manufacturing, instruments, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, calipers, comparators, and CAD.
- Proficiency in PC usage and familiarity with the automotive industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Outstanding leadership skills and ability to delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Strong knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
- Computer literacy including creating spreadsheets, documents, and presentations in Microsoft Office suite.
