In this role, you will: Using SolidWorks, design mechanical components and systems for use in consumer products. Design, prototype, validate, source, and manufacture various components. Create component drawings, assembly drawings, bills of materials, and change orders. Manage design data via PLM/PDM systems. Coordinate with component suppliers on tooling design, creation, and manufacturing logistics. Assist transition to mass production internally and at contract manufacturers. Collaborate with Product Design, Electronics, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Testing teams. Ensure designed products meet required quality and safety standards and assist in UL certification of final product. Required skills and experience: 7+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering A high degree of proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling Demonstrated experience with design for plastic injection molding Demonstrated experience with plastics materials selection Demonstrated experience with design for consumer products Demonstrated experience with thermal simulation software and thermal mitigation techniques Demonstrable experience with basic mechanical tools and mechanical assembly Understanding of GD&T and ASME standards Understanding of UL requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or similar Bonus skill: Bilingual English and French written and spoken High Tech Genesis Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
