Position Description:
We are seeking a specialized Process Engineer - Naphtha Reforming to join our Downstream Process Engineering Division under our Process & Control Systems Department.
Our Downstream Process Engineering Division is responsible for providing technical expertise in naphtha reforming technologies, including catalytic reforming, semi-regenerative reforming, and continuous catalyst regeneration (CCR), to support the development and optimization of reforming processes.
As a Reform Engineer you will be evaluating, enhancing, and troubleshooting reforming operations, process simulation software packages, such as HYSYS. You will effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, in addition to identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Develop, review, and implement process designs and operating parameters for naphtha reforming units.
- Evaluate and optimize reforming catalysts and technologies to improve efficiency, yield, and product quality.
- Provide technical support and guidance to operating facilities, including troubleshooting and resolving operational issues.
- Collaborate with technology licensors and vendors to evaluate and implement new technologies and innovations.
- Conduct process simulation studies to optimize reforming operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Author and present technical papers and reports on reforming technologies and best practices.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge in reforming technologies.
Minimum Requirements:
As a successful candidate you will hold a:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Advanced degree is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in refinery or petrochemical operations and engineering, with a focus on naphtha reforming technologies with at least 5 years in CCR technologies and CCR operation.
- Experience with multiple operating facilities and process licensor technologies (UOP or Axens)
- Expertise in innovation and intellectual property development, holding patents in the field of naphtha reforming technologies.
- Proficiency in process simulation software packages, such as HYSYS.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues
