Looking for a lifetime career? Apply today! Job Description The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a Test Engineer to join the Fluid Dynamics Experiments team! The newest team member will be able to research, develop, and apply state of the art experimental technologies and advanced instrumentation in a hands-on applied research laboratory environment. You will conduct single and multi-phase fluid flow and heat transfer experiments for new reactor plant designs, and advanced technology development. Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 6 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or PhD degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified; or EDO qualified and 2 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or 3 years SRE qualified and Water Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only); or SRE qualified and 6 years of experience. Preferred Skills Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Experience with the thermal/hydraulic test design, execution, and engineering assessments. Experience developing and implementing advanced test instrumentation and experimental methods including flow visualization, laser-based measurement technologies, machine learning and test automation. Experience with developing data acquisition and process control algorithms. Experience with developing data acquisition and control systems algorithms, and data processing software (e.g., LabVIEW, Unity, Wonderware, Python, MatLab, etc.). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong drive to improve processes, solve problems, and adapt to change.
