Position Overview

Torus Talent is hiring an Intermediate/Senior Electrical Substation Design Engineer on behalf of a leading engineering firm specializing in power infrastructure and utility projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on substation design, high-voltage power distribution, and renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, hands-on experience in electrical system design, and a collaborative approach to solving complex engineering challenges.


Further Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical substations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

• Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and grounding analysis.

• Develop and review technical documentation, specifications, and project proposals.

• Work closely with clients, project teams, and key stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions.

• Oversee project execution, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence.

• Utilize 3D design software for efficient project planning and implementation.


Ideal Candidate Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.

• Expertise in substation design, power distribution, and industrial controls.

• Knowledge of medium and high-voltage power systems, including transformer and cable sizing.

• Ability to develop technical specifications and evaluate vendor proposals.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with clients and internal teams.

• P.Eng. certification in Canada or the U.S. (or eligibility to register).
