We are seeking a dynamic and well-rounded Intermediate Process Engineer to join our Process Engineering team. This role requires a professional who can balance hands-on technical tasks, such as process simulations, with experience in EPC projects, ensuring seamless execution from basic engineering through to construction and operation.
The ideal candidate is adaptable, willing to learn new technologies, and capable of bringing innovative solutions and knowledge from the broader engineering world. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to challenging projects with a high level of independence while maintaining a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and advise the development of process engineering deliverables from conceptual engineering for R&D projects through FEED and detailed engineering and into construction and operations.
- Perform and oversee process simulations and feasibility studies using software such as Aspen HYSYS or similar tools to optimize design configurations and support decision-making.
- Prepare and review BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, tie-ins, data sheets (DPT, MSD, LDT), and process control philosophies.
- Conduct detailed process engineering calculations, including heat and material balances, hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing, line sizing, and PSV calculations.
- Work across multidisciplinary teams, including procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations, to ensure design feasibility, constructability, and smooth project execution.
- Participate in HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and process safety evaluations to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Ensure all work adheres to engineering codes, industry standards, and best practices for oil and gas facilities.
- Drive innovation by identifying and integrating new engineering technologies into projects to enhance efficiency and performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (P.Eng. designation desirable). A Master's degree is a plus.
- 10-15 years of experience in process engineering within oil and gas projects, with significant EPC experience managing projects from basic engineering to construction and operation.
- Strong ability to work across different project phases, with experience balancing detailed engineering work with practical implementation.
- Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS and working knowledge of engineering tools like AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
- Deep understanding of process safety principles, regulatory requirements, and risk assessment methodologies (e.g., HAZOP).
- Familiarity with international engineering standards and codes applicable across all project stages.
- Experience in economic cost-benefit analysis, CAPEX/OPEX estimation models (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to implement process improvements and optimize system performance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to effectively collaborate across disciplines.
