Job Description:

Our client, a leader in defense products, is seeking a Sr Mechanical Engineer Defense Products to join their team. As a Sr Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting the product development of innovative defense solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a high attention to detail which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Sr Mechanical Engineer Defense Products

Location: Chandler, AZ

Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 DOE plus full benefits

What's the Job?

  • Lead and create product designs for research and development programs, including armor and blast attenuating technologies.
  • Ensure new products meet specified requirements and oversee prototype build and qualification testing.
  • Develop and review technical documents to support design reviews, testing, and requirements tracking.
  • Manage the maintenance of legacy production products and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with bid and proposal efforts to support business development initiatives.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
  • Over 10 years of experience in product development with at least 5 years related to defense products.
  • Highly proficient with SolidWorks and strong understanding of project management.
  • Expert understanding of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 drawing and tolerance standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience in composite systems and electronics integration.
