What We Are Looking For:

As a Manager, Renewable Electrical Engineering at PSE in our Madison, WI, or St. Paul, MN, office, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the delivery of multidisciplinary Solar Photovoltaic (PV), Microgrid, EV Charging Infrastructure and Energy Storage System (ESS) projects through their feasibility, pre-construction, and construction phases with a specific focus on the electrical design aspects of projects. What You Will Be Doing:

    • Lead the design and engineering efforts of the following project types:
      • Commercial & Industrial and Utility-Scale Solar PV Systems
      • Energy Storage Projects either stand-alone or paired with other technologies
      • Renewable-Based Microgrid Projects
      • EV Charging Infrastructure Projects
    • Working knowledge of the following:
      • Relay programming and design
    • Power system modelling tools PSCAD, PSS/E, PSLF, SKM, ETAP, CYME and ASPEN software
    • Solar PV Modelling - PVSYST, Helioscope
    • AutoCAD
    • Support power system studies related to Load Flow Analysis, Overcurrent and Protective Device Coordination, Steady-State Thermal and Voltage Analysis, Arc-Flash Hazard Analysis, Motor Starting Analysis, Harmonic Analysis, Transient Analysis, Short Circuit, Equipment Evaluation, Reactive Power Study, Underground Ampacity Thermal Calculations, and Grounding Studies
    • Oversee project execution for engineering design, material and equipment selection, and construction specifications for renewable energy projects.
    • Work to expand the technical capabilities of the group to enhance competitiveness of the practice area.
    • Contribute to the continual development of internal distributed energy resource engineering standards, toolsets, and work processes.
    • Develop new ideas and innovative solutions to service offerings and client deliverables.
    • Solid knowledge of the renewable power sector, its key stakeholders and regulatory environment, and well-established network of contacts with industry stakeholders, developers, off-takers, government representatives and financial stakeholders in the renewable energy industry.
    • Lead and develop a high- performing team of engineers and technicians by providing mentorship, guidance, and professional growth opportunities. Work closely with HR to design and implement tailored career development plans, ensuring team members have the resources and training necessary to advance their skills and careers.

    What You Will Need:

    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with Power Systems Focus
    • 7+ years' experience working in the electrical engineering industry with a minimum of 5+ years, specifically in the renewable electrical engineering industry.
    • PE (Professional Engineer) Licensure or the ability to get one within a year.
    • Experience working in commercial & industrial electrical engineering a plus.
    • Master's degree in electrical engineering a plus
    • NABCEP certification or willingness to get one.


    Knowledge and Skills
    • Experience with AutoCAD, PVsyst, SKM, ETAP, SEL Relays.
    • Experience with industry-standard design codes such as NEC, International Building Codes, International Fire Codes, and other standards relevant to the industry.
    • Working knowledge of applicable NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards is highly preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.
    • Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner.
    • Possess the ability to continually identify and recommend process and/or system improvements to facilitate efficiencies .
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to apply effective verbal and written communication skills when writing specifications, preparing technical reports, contributing to, or leading project team discussions.
    • Ability to travel as needed (up to 5%) for team meetings, client consultations, site assessments, and construction inspections - occasional overnight travel may be required.

    Compensation:
    • Salary Range: $ 132,769 - $159,106 annually

    This salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for seven minimum relevant years of experience.to fifteen maximum relevant years of experience. The successful candidate will be placed at a level that is commensurate with the candidate's relevant years of experience, education, and technical expertise.
