We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Alexandria, VA facility (Hybrid schedule - North Old Town Alexandria has free shuttle service to the local Metro Station, free street parking nearby).

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be leading electrical designs in various market sectors; primarily federal / government, commercial, academic, and science & technology. Overseeing production work and supporting the junior staff development. You will have the opportunity to be mentored and eventually lead the office's electrical department. Our federal projects afford you the unique opportunity to see the inner workings of our country's historic and institutional buildings. Opportunities in large scale mission critical data center projects also exist.

Some of your responsibilities include the following:


  • Execute electrical designs in accordance with codes, the Electrical Department's Procedures and Standards, along with specific client standards.
  • Knowledge of medium voltage systems and emergency systems including uninterruptible power systems, generators, automatic transfer switches, and lighting inverters.
  • Knowledge in how Revit is used for 3D model electrical system components.
  • Prepare backup documentation to support design efforts including load calculations, voltage drop calculations, lighting power density and lighting illumination levels.
  • Model one-line diagrams, to execute a short circuit analysis and coordination study.
  • Perform site surveys of existing conditions to inform the basis of design reports.



Essential Skills & Requirements


  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • PE is a plus
  • Revit is a plus
  • Understanding of the NEC, IBC and IECC

The compensation that we expect to pay for this position is commensurate with years of experience, professional licensure and education is $125,000 to $160,000 with yearly bonus potential.
