Mechanical Engineer for Plumbing and Fire Protection Design

From veterinary hospitals to animal shelters, our work transforms the lives of animals and the people who care for them - one building at a time.

Now, we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to help us continue to raise the standard in animal care facility design.


This is a full-time in-person position and is available in either Norwich, Connecticut or Pensacola, Florida. This position does not allow for remote work.


Job Description/Primary Responsibilities:

Design and draft plumbing, hydronic, and fire sprinkler systems.

Support the design and layout of HVAC systems and ductwork.

Perform detailed equipment sizing, code reviews, and technical specifications.

Create accurate technical drawings and plans using Revit and AutoCAD.

Calculate fluid flow, pipe sizing, pressure loss, and related engineering data.

Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs to ensure project compliance.

Participate in occasional on-site inspections and project visits.


Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality work.

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and standard office software.

Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

A proactive, adaptable mindset and a desire to collaborate and grow within a team.

Salary & Benefits:

$75,000-$85,000 (Salary is negotiable and will be commensurate with skill level and experience)
