Job Description:

This role will be responsible for designing and implementing mechanical systems, including HVAC, while considering budget, timelines, and resources. This involves conducting HVAC system selections and detailed designs, specifying mechanical equipment, reviewing submittals, and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs).


Responsibilities:


  • Design and Development:
  • Creating mechanical designs for projects, considering budget constraints, deadlines, and available resources.
  • HVAC System Expertise:
  • Specifying and designing HVAC systems, including load calculations and adherence to relevant codes like Title 24.
  • Equipment Selection:
  • Choosing and specifying mechanical equipment and devices for various applications.
  • Documentation and Review:
  • Creating and maintaining project specifications, drawings, and documentation. Reviewing submittals and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and timely responses to RFIs.
  • Testing and Analysis:
  • Performing tests and experiments to evaluate component performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration:
  • Working with other engineers, project managers, and potentially manufacturing teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Establishing and implementing quality assurance and control processes to ensure designs meet user specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Problem Solving:
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues during the design process.
  • Communication:
  • Reporting project status to senior engineers and management.
  • Staying Current:
  • Keeping up with advancements in mechanical engineering and relevant technologies.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Must have PE Certification
  • 7-10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Data Center experience a plus
  • Ability to read and understand designs and schematics
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
