Position Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its buildings practice, which is recognized for delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions. The team works on a variety of project types, including airports, hospitals, and data centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering design efforts and provide cross-disciplinary design leadership.
  • Design mechanical systems such as airside systems, hydronic heating and cooling plants, specialty exhaust systems, and steam systems.
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines and support project managers in delivering coordinated design packages.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to repeat business.
  • Prepare technical documentation including drawings, specifications, reports, and presentations.
  • Integrate sustainable design strategies into building systems.
  • Present technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate in local professional organizations.
  • Ensure quality standards, manage project metrics, and maintain client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
  • At least 6 years of experience in HVAC system design, including airside and hydronic systems, with experience in healthcare projects.
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., IMC, IECC/ASHRAE 90.1, FGI/ASHRAE 170, LEED, NFPA).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to present to diverse audiences and demonstrate commercial awareness.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in the U.S.
  • LEED Accreditation or WELL Certification.
  • Experience with engineering analysis and energy modeling, including whole building energy analysis, façade thermal analysis, and airflow modeling.
