Responsible Energy Inc. is tackling one of the world's most urgent environmental challenges: the destruction of PFAS ("Forever Chemicals"). Using our proprietary, multi-patented Free Radical Gasification (FRG ) technology, we are redefining hazardous waste management and setting new standards for environmental sustainability.
Headquartered in Maitland, Ontario, Canada, Responsible Energy is a purpose-driven organization combining innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. Our vision is to change the way the world sees waste, and our mission is to permanently eliminate PFAS and other hazardous contaminants without the need for dilution by advancing Free Radical Gasification (FRG ) as the global standard for safe, scalable, and regulation-ready PFAS destruction.
Job Summary
Responsible Energy Inc. is seeking a senior-level Mechanical Engineer to support the continued development, optimization, and deployment of our proprietary Free Radical Gasification (FRG ) technology. This position plays a key role in ensuring our systems remain technically advanced, operationally reliable, and fully compliant with environmental and regulatory standards as commercial adoption accelerates.
Based at our Maitland, Ontario facility, this is a hands-on, execution-driven role suited to a candidate with deep expertise in mechanical system design, high-temperature process equipment, and project delivery. Responsibilities include leading internal and external resources, overseeing procurement and contractor coordination, and driving system troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Given the regulatory and operational context of our work, preference will be given to candidates with significant professional experience in Canada. This position will serve as a senior technical contributor within the R&D team, directly influencing the evolution of our operational FRG unit and the design of next-generation configurations.

- Experience within the Canadian regulatory and industrial environment is strongly preferred
- Strong background in hands-on mechanical design, testing, and field implementation
- Proven experience managing technical projects, coordinating external vendors, and delivering results on schedule
- Solid knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and mechanical reliability
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and standard engineering tools for design, simulation, documentation, and project planning
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills, with the ability to generate regulatory-grade records
- Comfortable leading field-level troubleshooting and participating directly in R&D testing and commissioning activities
Compensation
