Job Title: Process Engineer

Location: Calgary, AB

Length: 12-Month contract to start

Rotation: Mon-Fri, Local (no rotation)


Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Process Engineer III to support front-end and detailed engineering phases of major projects within the oil & gas sector. This role will take a lead in process design development or provide technical oversight to engineering contractors, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor junior engineers in developing process design specifications (e.g., H&MBs, PFDs, equipment sizing, control schemes).
  • Oversee and validate contractor deliverables to ensure adherence to project specifications, company guidelines, and technical excellence.
  • Conduct and/or lead process optimization studies aimed at improving safety, reducing costs, or enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Participate in HAZOP reviews and ensure implementation of safety and regulatory standards.
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities as needed.
  • Assist in project planning and contribute to defining organizational and staffing needs for process engineering teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
  • Proven experience in petroleum refining, chemical processing, or EPC project environments.
  • Strong background in capital project development and process engineering methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
