We are currently seeking a hardworking, motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team!
Capital Engineering offers a standard 5-day work week, or a condensed 4-day work week. However, all successful candidates must be willing to work in the office, not remotely.
What are we looking for?
- Engineering design and field experience for brownfield and/or greenfield industrial projects (e.g. utility, oil & gas, oil sands, refinery, petrochemical).
- Registered with APEGA, (or an equivalent Canadian Association)
- Experience with medium and low voltage electrical power distribution systems and equipment, including transformers, switchgear, VFDs, motor control centers, motors, etc.
- Experience in power system analyses (Load Flow, Short Circuit, Relay Co-ordination, Arc-Flash, Motor Starting) would be an asset but not required.
- Must have knowledge of international and Canadian electrical standards and codes including API, NFPA, CSA, and IEEE. Familiarity with electrical safety regulations and practices.
- Experience in the development of engineering deliverables such as: Engineering Work Packages, Material Requisitions, Review of Vendor drawings and Technical Bid Evaluations.
- Experience interfacing to answer requests for information, resolutions of technical deviations to engineering specifications, etc.
- Have participated in risk assessments and able to implement measures to mitigate, or manage, identified electrical hazards.
- Experience in providing technical support for Operations/Maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.
