Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Science, Engineering, or Mathematics). A Master's degree may substitute for 2+ years of experience.
Clearance Requirements: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of technical experience in Electrical Engineering.
- Seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development of military-grade electronics for the Common Weapon Launcher (CWL) system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify electronics, including PCB designs.
- Design and analyze analog and digital circuits, including analog signal conditioning and communication interfaces.
- Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware.
- Develop test criteria and assist in test system design.
- Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions using commercial and industry components and technologies.
- Generate design and interface documentation.
- Design cable assemblies.
- Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications for program management and the Navy customer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience with the engineering development life cycle (concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases).
- Working knowledge of common communication interfaces (RS-422, RS-485, LVDS).
- Experience in analog and digital circuit design.
- Familiarity with lab equipment (signal generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, digital logic analyzers).
- Proficient in all phases of PCB design, including high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience a plus), and collaboration with the PCB layout team.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience with firmware or microcontrollers is a plus.
- Experience with VHDL/Verilog is a plus.
