Position: Entry-Level Electrical Engineer or Physicist - Survivability Modeling & Simulation

Location: Southern Indiana - Onsite Required

Relocation Assistance Available

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required and a clean record as you will be required to gain security clearance


A growing technical team is seeking a motivated entry-level Electrical Engineer or Physicist to support critical defense-related programs focused on survivability of microelectronics in radiation environments. This is a hands-on, collaborative role with excellent mentorship and technical development opportunities. Relocation assistance is provided for qualified candidates.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers to design, simulate, and evaluate electronic systems exposed to challenging environments, with a focus on modeling and radiation effects on microelectronics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the modeling and simulation of microelectronic components under radiation exposure.
  • Contribute to the design, development, and review of technical solutions under supervision.
  • Assist in developing engineering specifications, system documentation, and technical reports.
  • Participate in analysis and design reviews, preparing inputs and supporting documentation.
  • Track and manage project data, specifications, and status in collaborative tools or databases.
  • Engage in technical meetings and design reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering documentation and testing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work across disciplines in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a well-organized manner.
  • Interest in or foundational knowledge of microelectronics and radiation effects.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens EDA).
  • Familiarity with SPICE modeling and radiation-aware simulations.
  • Understanding of Monte Carlo simulation and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Experience with programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, C, Verilog, or PEARL.
  • Basic knowledge of analog/digital circuit design, ASICs, or PCB design.
  • Understanding of BSIM models and Process Design Kits (PDKs).
  • Hands-on experience with simulation and modeling tools for performance evaluation.
