ViewRay Systems designs, manufactures, and markets the MRIdian A3i radiation therapy system. The MRIdian A3i system is designed to treat patients with the smallest radiation therapy margins available with the highest patient throughput demonstrated for the most complicated cases
The MRIdian A3i system treats by aligning the sharpest radiation therapy beam on the market to diagnostic quality magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of the patient, adapts the treatment plan to the reality of the patient, and then uses the real-time MRIs to control the beam and record real-time doses delivered to the patient.

Job Description
ViewRay Systems is currently looking for an experienced, self-motivated Mechanical Engineer.
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop complex electro-mechanical components and assemblies from prototype to production.
• Develop and execute rapid prototypes for proof of concept utilizing state of the art additive manufacturing as well as mature techniques.
• Use failure mode and risk analysis for a safe and reliable product.
• Perform hands on activities such as prototype assembly, installation, and testing.
• Follow guidelines of internal design controls and change controls processes.
• Define and analyze alternative design solutions and work cross functionally to optimize design solution.
• Responsible for managing design files and system BOM.
• Support verification, validation, and regulatory submissions.
• Provide technical support to external design and manufacturing partners.
Required Qualifications
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
• 7+ years design experience.
• SolidWorks mastery.
• Familiarity with FEA for stress analysis.
• Experience designing in a regulated environment
• Able to quickly grasp user level or system requirements and translate into subsystem requirements and design.
• Experience conducting life cycle tests.
• Ability to plan, track and manage projects to cost and schedule targets.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Valued Qualifications
• Extensive FEA experience
• Experience designing to IEC-60601 Medical device directives
• MSME or 10+ years design experience
