Mechanical Engineer - Building Systems Design

Irvine, CA Full-Time

What You'll Do

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll contribute to the entire project lifecycle-from initial surveys to final construction support. You'll play a vital role in delivering mechanical systems that are efficient, code-compliant, and engineered for long-term performance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design Development: Assist in the preparation of mechanical design drawings by performing site surveys, load calculations, Title 24 compliance, ductwork layout, control diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Construction Documents: Organize construction drawing details and ensure completeness and accuracy through quality control checks.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with architects and civil, structural, and electrical engineers to ensure fully integrated designs.
  • Construction Support: Respond to RFIs and field questions during construction; address issues promptly and effectively to keep projects moving.


What You Bring

We're looking for a problem-solver with both technical proficiency and field insight. You should have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or building systems
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Windows
  • Familiarity with California building and city codes (preferred)
  • Field construction experience is a strong plus
