Position: Project Engineer (EE)

Location: On site Monday-Friday, Columbus, OH (Brand new office space!)

Hours: Normal 8-5

Pay Rate: 40/hr ($83,200) + OT Eligible + Benefits (Eligible Day 1) + PTO

Notes: We are looking for candidates with a go getter attitude / dive head first into projects!


Evergreen Project Overview: We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Evergreen team within the Applied Engineering Services practice. This role will ensure grid reliability and compliance by managing our client's interconnection projects in the ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) area. Our client aims to reduce their backlog, expedite the study process, and facilitate faster plant connections. These studies involve larger connections requiring a Full Interconnection Study (FIS) for projects of 10MW or higher, governed by ERCOT Interconnection Study criteria. Applicants typically include developers of solar farms, battery energy storage systems (BESS), industrial loads, wind farms, and other projects.


Must Haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering
  • Great communication skills as you will be interfacing with customers
  • Go getter personality
  • Technologically savvy


Plusses:

  • Experience with renewable energy resources
  • Generation and Transmission experience
  • Utility industry experience
  • RTO experience


Day to Day: The Project Engineer will serve as the liaison between developers and our client's interconnection team, ensuring projects run smoothly, on time, and that payments are made. Responsibilities include extensive documentation and communication, keeping our client, Evergreen, developers, and outsourced engineering companies aligned. Additionally, the Project Engineer will update our client's systems like Rio, Smartsheet, and SharePoint.


Client Studies: The five key sections for the FIS Projects are:

  1. Facility Study
  2. Steady State Study
  3. Short Circuit Study
  4. Dynamic/Transient Study
  5. Sub-Synchronous Oscillation (SSO) (if required)


Responsibilities:

  • Dedicate time slots with Interconnection Entities (IE)
  • Keep projects on track
  • Coordinate with contractors conducting the studies
  • Establish timelines for each project activity
  • Maintain progress in ERCOT's RIO tool
  • Maintain our client's SharePoint tracker
  • Resolve gaps in the progress of studies
  • Escalate issues as needed
