Senior Mechanical Engineer - Rotating Equipment, Product Design, Sheet Metal

Austin, TX

$120,000 - $160,000


We've partnered with a leading Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specializing in innovative industrial solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and development of rotating equipment, product design, and sheet metal components.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of rotating equipment systems, ensuring product performance and reliability.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for sheet metal fabrication, including cost-effective manufacturing techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product design, production, and quality assurance, to drive projects from concept to completion.
  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CREO) for creating detailed engineering drawings and 3D models.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and FMEA for new and existing products.
  • Analyze test data and performance metrics to refine designs and enhance product functionality.
  • Support the development of technical documentation, including design specifications, engineering reports, and user manuals.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory standards.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in rotating equipment and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CREO) and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Strong knowledge of material selection, stress analysis, and thermal analysis.
  • Proven experience in product lifecycle management (PLM) and design for manufacturability (DFM).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.


Preferred:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • Experience in the OEM or heavy industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
