Mechanical Engineer - Sustainable Design & Build

Location: Centennial, CO (Hybrid)

Compensation: $90,000-$140,000 + Bonus + Benefits


About the Opportunity

A design-build firm focused on sustainability is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support energy-efficient commercial building projects. This role is ideal for someone passionate about reducing environmental impact through smart HVAC and MEP engineering.


What You'll Do

You'll take ownership of HVAC and MEP design for LEED-oriented and decarbonization-driven projects, working closely with architects, contractors, and sustainability consultants to deliver performance-focused solutions from concept through construction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical systems with an emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability
  • Produce detailed MEP documentation and Revit models
  • Perform load calculations, equipment selection, and system layout
  • Collaborate across disciplines to support integrated project delivery
  • Handle construction administration tasks (e.g., RFIs, submittals)


What We're Looking For

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in HVAC/MEP design
  • Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD
  • Strong grasp of mechanical codes, systems, and sustainable design principles
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with energy modeling software (Trace 700, OpenStudio, eQuest)
  • Experience with LEED, WELL, or similar green building frameworks
