I'm currently working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering firm in Central Florida to find a Senior Electrical Engineer who's ready to step into a key leadership role. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of impactful projects-airports, K-12 and higher education facilities, government buildings, and more-that directly serve communities across the region.

The role is based in Orlando, and it offers the perfect balance of technical design work, team collaboration, and client engagement.

About the Client

With over three decades of experience, this firm has built a reputation for delivering smart, practical engineering solutions across the aviation, facilities, transportation, and land development industries. Their team of 130+ professionals covers a wide range of disciplines-from electrical and mechanical to civil, structural, and fire protection engineering.

Projects range from terminal renovations and school campuses to critical government infrastructure. The team brings a hands-on, client-focused approach to every project, blending innovation with cost-effective, sustainable results.

About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll lead the design and coordination of electrical and low voltage systems for complex, large-scale projects. You'll be a key technical resource while also mentoring junior engineers, supporting business development efforts, and helping shape the future direction of the electrical department.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is ready to make a tangible impact through high-quality design and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings
  • Develop and review technical specifications, construction documents, and cost estimates
  • Plan and design low voltage systems: security, CCTV, access control, and telecommunications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges with practical, innovative solutions
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations to support construction efforts
  • Mentor and guide junior engineering staff
  • Ensure quality through active participation in QA/QC reviews and internal standards development
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver fully integrated solutions
  • Contribute to marketing efforts and long-term strategic planning
  • Occasionally work flexible hours to meet project deadlines or client needs

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical and low voltage design
  • PE licensure required; ability to obtain Florida PE within 6 months
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with TIA/EIA industry standards
  • Strong working knowledge of low voltage systems (fire alarm, CCTV, access control, structured cabling, etc.)
  • RCDD and/or Infocomm CTS certifications a plus
  • Experience working on projects in aviation, education, or government sectors
  • Strong command of MS Outlook, Excel, and Word

Key Competencies

  • Proven ability to lead engineering teams and solve complex design challenges
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professionalism in managing sensitive or confidential client information

Licensure Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Active PE license (multi-state licensure preferred)

Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 (commensurate with experience)
