Title : CAD/PLM Systems & Process Engineer

Locations : Fremont, CA

Duration : 24+ months contract with possible extension

Rate : $40 to $50/hr on W2


Job Description:

  • We are seeking an individual with experience in engineering product development processes and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of enabling CAD and PLM efficiencies and automation, along with a passion for standards, attention to detail, and consistent design and documentation methods. This role requires the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams of impacted stakeholders and perform non-technical project management to successful completion, both on time and within budget, while maintaining a strong internal customer focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive continuous improvement across all elements of the engineering development and release process-from communication tools to core engineering practices.
  • Develop evaluation methods to assess process strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of requirements and functionality with stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation.
  • Develop, present, and maintain effective training materials.
  • Present project plans to senior management, gain buy-in, and deliver results.
  • Manage cross-functional teams with diverse skills and responsibilities.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 2 years with a Master's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD), including part and assembly modeling, on-model annotations, Technical Data Packages (TDP), fabrication, and inspection.
  • Proficient in data analysis and visualization techniques/tools.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) principles, processes, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Excel is required; experience with VBA, SQL, JMP, Qlik, Access, QuickBase, SAP, Matlab, or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both client-facing and internal.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of PLM and ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Preferred Experience:

  • Background in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience creating on-model annotations for sheet metal, machined parts, weldments, and large assemblies in support of MBD.
  • Modeling experience in NX 10 or newer (5+ years preferred).
  • Knowledge of product configuration engineering, manufacturing engineering, field service, logistics, and spares management.
