The Electrical Engineer will provide technical support involving engineering design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of advanced industrial electrical and electronic systems. The successful candidate will lead capital projects, drive equipment upgrades, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Some of the Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer include:
- Provide electrical/electronic technical support to a continuous melting operation.
- Engineer, design, install, and commission new equipment and upgrades-including capital projects.
- Lead and supervise contractors and external resources as required.
- Recommend and implement modifications to improve equipment reliability, quality, and productivity.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues causing unplanned downtime.
- Support and lead troubleshooting of large industrial power supplies, drives, motors, and furnace components.
- Utilize meters, oscilloscopes, and analyzers to diagnose electrical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement sustainable engineering solutions.
- Evaluate effectiveness of modifications and improvements post-implementation.
- Prepare detailed technical reports covering operational performance, project status, and maintenance work.
- Support weekend and holiday assignments when needed.
Some of the Qualifications/Requirements of the Electrical Engineer include:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial electronics and/or machine control systems.
- Proficient in working with PLCs, HMIs, power supplies, drives, motors, and industrial control systems.
- Experience operating electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters).
- Programming experience in PLC Ladder Logic, C/C++, C#, or .NET preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and motor drive systems is a plus.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
