Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks Electrical Expert with Electrical Standards and codes (NEC, UL, FCC)
Experience with Electrical Instrumentation (Oscilloscope, DVM, Power analyzers, Spectrum analyzers)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Professional Engineer License is a plus Understanding of International, specifically Canadian, electrical codes is a plus Experience with robotics Experience mentoring junior engineers
Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer specializing in Industrial Electrical Panels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, production, and maintenance of electrical and controls sub-systems throughout the product life cycle. This role reports to the Design Manager and involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineers and technologists to ensure the delivery of proof of concept, prototype, and production systems in line with the Advanced Technologies Services product development process. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in developing electrical sub-systems using CAD software to create schematics, wiring layouts, and BOMs for electrical panels. This includes defining safe power consumption budgets and conductor sizing per NEC standards.
Other responsibilities include: • Creation of test plans to ensure the highest quality and safety for electrical panels and systems • Documentation for systems (part, assy, BOMs) adhering to best practices for revision control • Performing maintenance and upgrades for systems installed in field and document revision changes • Creation of project plans, designs of experiments (DOE) and revision-controlled documentation • Documenting results and findings into reports, emails, databases in an organized & accurate manner • Collaboration with Quality & Regulatory Teams to ensure products are developed and validated in a manner that complies with applicable local and global regulatory agencies (FCC, UL, Intertek)
Compensation:
$120,000 to $160,000 per year annual salary.
