JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Summary:
The main function of an electrical engineer is to design, develop, test or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military or scientific use. A typical electrical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise the design, development, and testing of the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, and lighting.
Review and approve the cost effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain design models.
Discuss estimates for time and cost to complete projects with clients.
Supervise the simulation and testing of machine/structure/system operation and monitor product quality.
Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.

This is a Charging System Engineer position focused on validation, troubleshooting, and integration with Cat Electric and Battery Electric machines. This role will involve direct work with machines under development and testing at the 2000 Proving Ground.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validation and Troubleshooting: Ensure the charging systems are functioning as expected through testing, integration, and troubleshooting.
- System Integration: Work closely with our development teams to integrate various charging components, such as rectifiers, DC-AC converters, and other key parts of the system.
- Hands-on Involvement: A key part of this role is a hands-on capability, so applicants should be comfortable working with physical systems, components, and testing equipment.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree with at least 2+ years of relevant experience or
- Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering.
Experience/Skills:
- Strong understanding of charging systems, especially rectifiers and DC-AC converters.
- EMC/EMI testing experience would be a plus.
Voltage Levels:
- A/C up to 690V
- D/C up to 1500V
