Job Description:

Mechanical Engineer - Sustainable Commercial Design (HVAC/MEP)

SF Bay Area (Hybrid)

Our client is a mission-driven design firm challenging the status quo of commercial building systems-and they're hiring a Mechanical Engineer who's ready to do the same.

This team is focused on decarbonization, energy efficiency, and design integrity-working across high-performance buildings, deep green developments, and commercial spaces where engineering drives impact.

This role isn't just about drawing ducts in Revit (though you'll need to be great at that). It's about being part of a team that stays hands-on from concept through commissioning-designing mechanical systems that actually work, actually get built, and actually reduce emissions.

What You'll Do:

  • Design HVAC and MEP systems with a focus on sustainability, efficiency, and decarbonization
  • Develop detailed models and specs in Revit (must-have), plus AutoCAD or Trace 700 if you've got it
  • Run calcs, select equipment, and layout systems that are both smart and buildable
  • Coordinate across disciplines-architects, engineers, and sustainability consultants
  • Stay involved through construction admin and launch: RFIs, site visits, commissioning, and handover

Who You Are:

  • 3+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience (commercial or sustainability-focused preferred)
  • Revit-proficient and comfortable leading coordination in BIM environments
  • Familiar with LEED, WELL, or energy-efficient design strategies
  • Clear communicator, detail-oriented, and team-focused
  • EIT or PE is a plus-but not a dealbreaker

Why This Team:

You'll work on meaningful projects with a group that backs their values with execution. They design buildings that move the needle-on emissions, on occupant health, and on performance.

If you're ready to do your best work on systems that actually make a difference-this is your chance.
