Job Description:

About Cogs' Client:

We have partnered with a leading, privately held machinery manufacturing company known for delivering custom, heavy-duty industrial equipment across sectors like packaging, material handling, and automation. The company values innovation, engineering excellence, and collaborative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll take on advanced design projects and lead mechanical efforts through all phases - from concept and detailed design to troubleshooting and final installation. You'll mentor junior engineers, interface with clients, and play a key role in solving complex mechanical challenges that ensure equipment reliability and performance.

This role is perfect for a driven engineer looking to deepen technical expertise while taking on more leadership and project ownership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead design and development of mechanical systems for custom industrial machinery using CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Oversee troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning phases on-site, working closely with installation teams.
  • Mentor and guide mid-level engineers and support cross-functional project teams.
  • Conduct detailed analysis including stress/strain, tolerance stack-up, and failure mode evaluations.
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to optimize system integration and functionality.
  • Engage directly with clients to clarify specifications and provide engineering support during installation and startup.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5-12 years of mechanical engineering experience in machinery manufacturing, automation, or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Proven experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and related CAE tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
