Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting onsite field research, developing single-line diagrams and floor plans, assessing electrical systems in buildings, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards. This role is vital in supporting infrastructure projects with accurate and code-compliant electrical designs and assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform onsite field research to gather accurate data for creating single-line diagrams and floor plans of electrical systems and devices.
- Evaluate and document electrical devices including switchgears, switchboards, panels, disconnects, transformers, and other electrical infrastructure.
- Develop comprehensive electrical drawings such as single-line diagrams and floor plans representing the building's electrical systems.
- Conduct detailed electrical assessments of buildings to identify system performance, integrity, and potential issues.
- Create and present electrical assessment reports outlining observations, findings, and recommendations for improvements.
- Perform life safety and code compliance assessments, identifying deficiencies in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Investigate and identify grounding issues and ensure grounding systems meet code requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, and facility managers for project coordination.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical design, field research, or building infrastructure assessment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA).
- Proficient in creating electrical diagrams using CAD software or similar tools.
- Ability to work independently in field environments and document findings accurately.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Work Environment:
- Onsite field work required; must be able to conduct physical inspections and navigate building facilities.
- Occasional travel may be necessary based on project requirements.
