Electrical Engineer - Embedded Firmware & Electrical Design
Direct Hire Full-Time Permanent Role
We're hiring an Electrical Engineer to support embedded systems and electrical design for a growing defense electronics team. This is a direct hire opportunity offering long-term career potential in a technically challenging and collaborative environment.
What You'll Do:
- Lead electrical design for new product development and support existing systems
- Collaborate with mechanical teams during early packaging feasibility
- Define and communicate electrical constraints during design
- Recommend and implement updates to existing products
- Produce detailed drawings from sketches and models
- Analyze and verify power and thermal budgets
- Partner with production teams during initial builds
- Support product qualification testing and performance improvements
Requirements:
- BSEE from an accredited university or equivalent
- 4-8 years of electrical design experience, preferably in defense electronics manufacturing
- Proficiency in schematic capture tools
- Ability to interpret engineering design concepts, SOPs, ECNs, and technical reports
- Strong electrical aptitude and creativity in original design
- Experience running simulations (e.g., signal integrity)
- Familiarity with MIL specifications; MIL-STD-1553 required
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with RAD Hard designs
- C programming for embedded drivers
- VHDL/FPGA design
- PIC/ARM microcontrollers
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
