Job Title: Senior Mission Critical Electrical Engineer
Location: Fairfax, VA (Onsite)
Job Type: Full-Time
Clearance Required: U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

About the Role

My client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mission Critical Electrical Engineer to lead the design and analysis of high-reliability electrical systems supporting mission critical environments and data centers. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the development of resilient, energy-efficient infrastructure. This is an onsite position based in Fairfax, VA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medium to large-scale electrical design projects
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff
  • Collaborate with clients, design teams, and contractors
  • Develop one-line diagrams and specifications for mission critical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, and STS
  • Design SCADA systems and automated operations for critical infrastructure
  • Apply various electrical design topologies (Tier III, Tier IV, N+1, 2N)
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, Uptime Institute, ANSI/TIA-942, and other relevant standards
  • Assist in developing fee proposals and managing project budgets

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Virginia
  • 16+ years of progressive experience, including leadership on mission critical/data center projects
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to mentor and train junior engineers
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in ETAP or SKM
  • Experience using Revit for complex power system design in raised floor environments
