Full-Time

About the Opportunity
My client, a globally recognized engineering and consulting firm with a 100+ year legacy, is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support its rapidly growing Data Centers division. In this highly visible role, you'll provide technical leadership across multi-million-dollar design-build and design-only projects while mentoring a team and working closely with some of the most prominent names in the data center industry.

This is a hybrid opportunity, offering a flexible work model (3 days in-office, 2 days remote), and can be based out of any U.S. regional office.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the electrical design efforts for mission-critical data center projects across North America.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on power distribution systems, redundancy, and resiliency standards in hyperscale, edge, and colocation environments.

  • Manage and guide project teams through complex technical challenges using tools like Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, and Navisworks.

  • Coordinate with local utilities, clients, internal disciplines, and external partners throughout project lifecycles.

  • Oversee production of technical deliverables, including calculations, layouts, and system studies.

  • Participate in business development and proposal efforts, including scope creation, LOE estimates, and site visits.

  • Mentor junior engineers and designers, contributing to a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on mission-critical/data center environments.

  • Strong understanding of tier rating systems, resiliency design, and code compliance.

  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM software for electrical modeling and documentation.

  • Skilled at managing multiple priorities and delivering results in high-paced project environments.

  • Excellent communication skills with a client-focused, solutions-driven mindset.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience working directly with hyperscale or colocation providers.

  • Knowledge of Uptime Institute certification requirements.

  • Experience developing and managing custom families and complex parameters in Revit.

  • Proven leadership in training and mentoring junior staff.

  • Familiarity with data center commissioning, procurement processes, and field coordination.

Selling Points & Recognition

  • Employee-Owned Model: You're not just an employee-you're an owner. Enjoy a stake in the company's long-term success.

  • Award-Winning Culture: Recognized among the Top 100 Places to Work by Glassdoor, and honored for commitment to DEI, sustainability, and innovation.

  • Comprehensive Day-One Benefits: Includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, wellness programs, and more.

  • Flexible Work Environment: Hybrid schedule with the ability to work from any U.S. regional office.

  • Global Reach, Local Impact: A long-standing reputation for building sustainable infrastructure that supports critical digital and energy needs.

  • Growth-Focused: Internal mobility, technical training, and a clear pathway for advancement in a firm that supports long-term career journeys.
